What's on the Hocking County Ballot: Every Race From Governor Down

A plain-language walk through the Nov. 3, 2026 general election ballot, built from the Hocking County Board of Elections' official election notice. Your exact ballot depends on your precinct.

Key takeaways

This guide lists every contest the Hocking County Board of Elections included in its updated 46-day notice for the Nov. 3, 2026 general election, in the order the notice presents them. Ballot layout and candidate order can differ on the printed ballot, and candidate names rotate by precinct in Ohio, so treat this as a map, not a replica. For your exact ballot, use the Hocking County sample ballot lookup.

How we built this list

Candidate names and party labels come from the board's official notices. We list candidates alphabetically by last name within each race. We do not endorse anyone. Write-in candidates are listed where the board's notice names them; a write-in name does not appear printed on the ballot, but you can write it in.

State executive offices

Ohio elects its governor and four other statewide officers to four-year terms. All five seats are open this year because the current officeholders are term-limited in those offices.

The board's updated notice lists incumbent Judge Peter B. Abele with the notation "Deceased" and also names Jayme Hartley Fountain and Todd L. Grace, with Republican and Democratic labels. Because the notice's layout does not make clear which name carries which label or exactly how this contest will appear, check your sample ballot or call the board at (740) 380-8683 for the final form of this race.

Statewide ballot issue

State Issue 3, a proposed constitutional amendment placed on the ballot by the General Assembly, would require voters to present photo identification in order to vote and would write the list of accepted IDs into the Ohio Constitution. It is the only statewide issue on the Nov. 3 ballot. The full ballot language and the official arguments for and against are posted by the Ohio Secretary of State.

Local questions and issues

These are the local issues in the board's updated notice. The countywide levy appears on every ballot. The rest appear only in the precincts listed.
