In Hocking County, early in-person voting takes place only at the Hocking County Board of Elections office, 93 West Hunter Street, Logan. The board published its schedule on its early voting hours page, and it matches the statewide hours set in the Ohio Secretary of State's 2026 voting schedule.

A few things to notice:
- Weekdays through Oct. 23 follow regular business hours, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Note that the board's normal office hours are 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., so early voting runs an hour later than usual.
- Two weekends are open, partly. Saturday Oct. 24 and Saturday Oct. 31 run 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday Oct. 25 is closed. Sunday Nov. 1 is open 1 to 5 p.m.
- Tuesday, Oct. 27 has the latest hours, until 8:30 p.m. That is also the deadline for the board to receive absentee ballot applications.
- Monday, Nov. 2 is closed to early voting statewide. Plan around that if you were counting on the day before the election.
Early voting is over. You can still vote on Tuesday, Nov. 3 from 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. at your assigned polling place. Use the Hocking County polling place search to find it.
Where to go
Hocking County Board of Elections
93 West Hunter Street, Logan, OH 43138
Phone (740) 380-8683
Every Hocking County voter, from Laurelville to Murray City, votes early at this one office. You do not go to your Election Day precinct for early voting, and you cannot vote early at another county's board. The board office is in downtown Logan. If you need parking or accessibility details, call ahead.
What to bring
Bring an acceptable photo ID. Ohio law requires in-person voters, early or on Election Day, to show an unexpired photo ID with their name and photograph (R.C. 3501.01). Accepted IDs include:
- Ohio driver's license or Ohio state ID card (or the BMV's interim ID form)
- U.S. passport or passport card
- U.S. military ID, Ohio National Guard ID, or U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs ID card
Ohioans 17 and older without a driver's license can get a state ID card from the BMV without paying the fee (R.C. 4507.50). If you show up without an acceptable ID, you can still vote a provisional ballot, but you will need to bring ID to the board within four days after the election for it to count.
You may also bring notes or a marked sample ballot to help you remember your choices. Look up your exact ballot with the Hocking County sample ballot tool before you go.
When to go: practical tips
- Earlier weeks are typically calmer. Voter traffic often builds as Election Day approaches, so the weekday windows in October are usually the easiest time.
- Check your registration first. The registration deadline was Oct. 5. If you moved within Hocking County and did not update your address, you can still vote, but you may be asked to complete a provisional ballot.
- Requested an absentee ballot? If you asked for a mail ballot and then vote early in person, you will vote provisionally so the board can make sure only one ballot counts.
- Weekend voters: Saturday hours end at 4 p.m., earlier than the weekday schedule.
What you will vote on
Early voters get the same ballot as Election Day voters in their precinct. For Nov. 3, every Hocking County voter will see races for governor, the other statewide executive offices, U.S. Senate, U.S. House District 2, the Ohio General Assembly, county offices, judicial seats including two Ohio Supreme Court seats, and State Issue 3, the proposed voter photo ID amendment. Some precincts also have township or village levies. See the race overview on our homepage and our voter guides for plain-language explanations.
